Hey, I'm Osman (Oz)
I spent 20+ years in news media, the last 7 as Creative Director at The Washington Post. But here's what I actually loved most about that job: building systems that let creative teams do their best work.
What I'm really good at:
Designing workflow automation systems (I built a custom request management pipeline that handled 40-50 weekly projects and saved our team 50-100 hours every week)
Scaling lean teams to deliver way more than they should be able to (managed 3-9 people delivering 100-200 high-stakes projects annually)
Solving logistical puzzles under pressure (coordinated distributed contractors across 4 time zones for live election coverage, engineered workarounds when technology failed)
Turning chaos into process (created template libraries, style guides, and SLAs that transformed how our 60-person video department worked)
What I'm looking for: Creative Operations, Production Operations, or DesignOps roles where I can build scalable systems, eliminate bottlenecks, and help creative teams work smarter.
Outside of work: Music lover, computer tinkerer, lifelong 49ers fan living in Washington, DC.
